Platform overview
The digital ownership and provenance tracking platform for physical items
Ownich is digital ownership infrastructure that gives physical items a persistent, verifiable identity, ownership history and provenance record. Its Ownership Passport records the item's ownership, provenance, certificates, evidence and transfers throughout its lifecycle.
What is a digital ownership and provenance tracking platform?
A digital ownership and provenance tracking platform creates and maintains verifiable records of who owns a physical item, where it came from, and everything that has happened to it. Unlike a simple database, a true provenance platform creates cryptographically signed records that cannot be altered retroactively — building an unbroken chain of custody from manufacturer to current owner.
Ownich is built specifically for physical items — watches, jewellery, art, electronics, collectibles, and luxury goods. It is not a blockchain NFT platform, not a document management system, and not a supply chain tool. It is ownership infrastructure for the items people actually own.
How the Ownich platform works
Item identity layer
Each item is registered with a unique identifier, photos, serial numbers, and purchase documentation. The item identity is immutable once created.
Certificate layer
A Digital Ownership Certificate is issued at each ownership event — purchase, transfer, inheritance, or gift. Each certificate is cryptographically signed and QR-linked.
Provenance layer
Every certificate, appraisal, service record, and provenance event is accumulated into the item's Ownership Passport — a living record that grows over the item's lifetime.
Transfer layer
Ownership transfers are two-party authenticated events. Both the current owner and the new owner must confirm the transfer. The full history is preserved.
Verification layer
Any third party can scan the item's QR code to see the current ownership status and provenance history in real time. No account required to verify.
API layer
Brands, retailers, and marketplaces integrate via the Ownich API to issue certificates automatically, query ownership status, and build provenance into their own products.
How Ownich compares to alternatives
Alternative
Blockchain / NFT platforms
Limitation
High complexity, gas fees, wallet requirements, and poor consumer UX. Most consumers will never use a crypto wallet.
Ownich
Ownich uses cryptographic signing without blockchain — same security guarantees, zero complexity for end users.
Alternative
Paper certificates and receipts
Limitation
Fade, get lost, can be forged, and cannot be transferred digitally.
Ownich
Ownich certificates are permanent, digital, and transferable. They cannot be lost or forged.
Alternative
Brand digital passports
Limitation
Locked to a single brand's ecosystem. Cannot aggregate ownership across multiple brands or categories.
Ownich
Ownich works across any brand, any category, any item. One platform for everything you own.
Alternative
Supply chain provenance tools
Limitation
Track items through manufacturing and distribution — but stop at the point of sale. No consumer ownership layer.
Ownich
Ownich picks up where supply chain tools stop — at the point of consumer ownership — and tracks the item for its entire consumer lifetime.
Platform use cases
Consumer ownership records
Individuals register items they own and build a verified ownership record. Useful for insurance, resale, and estate planning.
Brand certificate issuance
Brands integrate via API to issue Digital Ownership Certificates at point of sale — replacing paper certificates and warranty cards.
Marketplace fraud prevention
Marketplaces integrate Ownich verification to confirm ownership before listing — eliminating stolen goods and fraudulent sales.
Insurance and claims
Insurers use Ownich Ownership Passports as verified proof of ownership and value for claims processing.
Estate and inheritance
Ownership Passports provide clear, legally-relevant records of asset ownership for estate planning and inheritance.
EU Digital Product Passport compliance
Manufacturers use Ownich to build the consumer ownership layer required by the EU Digital Product Passport regulation.
