Ownich Price Index

The market price, not just a scraped number.

The OPI tracks real transaction prices over time, removes outliers, and produces a single confidence-weighted score. The more data it accumulates, the more accurate it becomes — like a financial index, but for everyday assets.

What is the Ownich Price Index?

Most valuation tools show you a list of scraped prices and leave you to guess. The OPI is different. It ingests prices from eBay, Chrono24, Vestiaire Collective, StockX and Artsy, normalises product names using AI to remove duplicates and noise, strips outliers using the IQR method, and computes a single market median backed by a confidence score. Every query you run contributes to the index — so it compounds in accuracy over time.

Market median

The middle price from all clean data points — not the average, which outliers skew.

OPI score

0–100 confidence-weighted index score. Higher = more data, lower volatility, stronger signal.

30-day trend

How the median has moved over the last 30 days versus the prior 30-day window.

90-day trend

Medium-term price direction — useful for spotting sustained appreciation or depreciation.

1-year trend

Long-term appreciation or depreciation since the same period last year.

Volatility

How much prices vary around the median. Low volatility = stable, predictable market.

Why the OPI is different from a price scraper

Aspect
Price scraper
Ownich Price Index
Data quality
Raw listing prices including fakes, errors, and outliers
IQR outlier removal + AI deduplication before any metric is computed
Product identity
Same product listed under dozens of different titles
Normalises every title to a stable canonical key
Historical depth
Point-in-time snapshot — no memory
Every query adds to the index — trends compound over months and years
Confidence signal
No indication of how reliable the price is
OPI score (0–100) tells you exactly how much to trust the number
Trend data
None
30d, 90d, and 1-year price movement built from real historical snapshots

How the OPI score is calculated

80–100

Strong signal

20+ data points, low volatility, recent data. Use this number with confidence for insurance, resale, or appraisal.

50–79

Good signal

8–19 data points or moderate volatility. Reliable for most purposes — check the trend direction too.

20–49

Emerging signal

3–7 data points. The index is building. Treat as indicative — more queries will improve it.

0–19

Insufficient data

Fewer than 3 clean data points. The OPI cannot yet produce a reliable estimate for this product.

Live OPI lookup

Check a product's index

Search by product name — e.g. iPhone 17 Pro Max, Rolex Submariner, or Air Jordan 1 Chicago.

Every query builds the index

The OPI improves with every search. Run a valuation on any item and your query contributes to the historical record — making future valuations for that product more accurate for everyone.
