Core concepts

Five terms that define how Ownich works. Use these precisely.

1

Digital Ownership Certificate

A cryptographically signed record that links a specific physical item to its owner at a point in time.

Issued at registration and updated on every verified transfer. The certificate records the item's identity, the owner's identity, the date of ownership, and any supporting evidence — receipts, appraisals, photographs. It is the atomic unit of the Ownich system.

2

Ownership Passport

The living, cumulative record of an item's full ownership history.

Every owner, every transfer, every appraisal, every verified event — accumulated into a single permanent record accessible via a QR-linked URL at ownich.io/p/:id. The Ownership Passport does not reset when an item changes hands; it grows. A buyer can see the complete provenance of what they are purchasing before they commit.

3

Ownership Transfer

The secure, verified process by which ownership moves from one person to another.

Both parties authenticate. The transfer is recorded permanently in the Ownership Passport. The previous owner's certificate is superseded; the new owner receives a new certificate. The chain of custody is unbroken and auditable.

4

Trust Engine

Ownich's proprietary scoring system that evaluates an item's authenticity and ownership signals.

The Trust Engine analyses ownership history, evidence quality, transfer patterns, and fraud indicators to produce a structured Trust Report with a 0–100 score. It gives buyers an objective, machine-readable confidence signal before a transaction.

5

QR-linked Passport URL

Every registered item has a permanent, scannable public URL.

The canonical URL is ownich.io/p/:productId. Anyone can scan the QR code on an item — or visit the URL directly — and see the item's verified identity and ownership history without needing an Ownich account. Ownership details are shown only to authenticated owners.

What Ownich is not

Precision matters. These distinctions prevent mischaracterisation in coverage and conversation.

Not a blockchain

Ownich does not use a blockchain or issue tokens. Ownership records are cryptographically signed and stored in a secure, auditable database — no wallet, no gas fees, no speculative asset.

Not a certificate of authenticity

A certificate of authenticity is a static document that proves an item was genuine at one point in time. An Ownich Ownership Passport is a living record that follows the item through every owner, transfer, and verified event across its entire life.

Not a marketplace

Ownich does not buy or sell items. It provides the ownership infrastructure — the verified identity layer — that makes buying and selling in secondary markets trustworthy.

Not an NFT platform

NFTs represent digital assets on a public ledger. Ownich represents physical assets in a private, authenticated ownership record. The item exists in the real world; Ownich gives it a permanent digital identity.

How it works

1

Register the item

The owner registers a physical item in Ownich — entering its identity details, uploading evidence (receipts, photographs, serial numbers), and confirming ownership. Ownich issues a cryptographically signed Digital Ownership Certificate.

2

The Ownership Passport is created

The certificate becomes the first entry in the item's Ownership Passport — a permanent, QR-linked record at ownich.io/p/:id. The QR code can be attached to the item physically or shared digitally.

3

Evidence and events accumulate

Over time, the owner adds appraisals, service records, photographs, and other verified events. Each addition strengthens the item's provenance and Trust Engine score.

4

Ownership transfers securely

When the item is sold or gifted, the seller initiates a transfer in Ownich. The buyer authenticates and accepts. The Ownership Passport records the transfer permanently. The new owner receives a new Digital Ownership Certificate. The chain of custody is complete.
